Mary Bridget Burns is the Project Director of the Region 1 Comprehensive Center project called the Massachusetts SLIFE Screener Project. The focus of this work is to support and expand the capacity of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in meeting the needs of students with limited or interrupted formal education (SLIFE).
Dr. Burns is a former classroom teacher and has extensive experience in bilingual education, elementary education, teacher professional development, and district improvement. Dr. Burns has over a decade of experience as an educator, from teaching elementary school and preparing pre-service teachers, to conducting research studies on educational practices and policies.
