Voyager Sopris Learning® provides reading, writing, and math intervention solutions developed by industry leading authors and built on decades of educational research. LANGUAGE! Live, an intensive intervention solution for adolescents in grades 5 through 12, was developed as a full English Language Arts solution by renowned author of LETRS® professional development, Dr. Louisa Moats. Built in alignment with Science of Reading principles and following a structured literacy approach with direct, explicit instruction, LANGUAGE! Live meets students where they need assistance with reading foundational skills and takes students where they need to be in grade level grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, and writing. Students move from learning to read to reading to learn. This is accomplished with a blended instructional model in which students complete foundational skill development autonomously through video training, practice activities, and individualized instructor feedback, while simultaneously practicing reading to understand in small-group, teacher-led, scaffolded text lessons. LANGUAGE! Live respects the adolescent reader by embedding their learning in authentic, age-appropriate, grade-level text to motivate these developing readers to be engaged topically and in thought-provoking discourse. Writing, which occurs throughout the program, can also be intensively targeted through diverse types of extended writing projects. Benchmark Assessments, included through LANGUAGE! Live, provide metrics for monitoring skill development throughout the academic year. Embedded within the product are numerous district, campus, class, and individual reports allowing educators to monitor progress at various levels. Extensive resources are provided to support educators and students throughout the program.
