In the New England area, schools and districts face challenges with recruiting teachers for remote rural schools, offering competitive pay with other industries, particularly for CTE teachers, and declining enrollment in teacher preparation programs. The Region 1 and 2 Comprehensive Centers will host three regional virtual cafés focused on strategies to collect and analyze educator workforce data to understand the landscape of educator workforce challenges and identify appropriate solutions. The Centers will also host an in-person regional convening to share best practices on strategies to address educator shortages.
