R1CC will facilitate an opportunity for regional literacy instructional leaders to gain access to and training with the Adolescent Literacy Intervention Selection Tool and associated rubrics. R1CC will develop and deliver a regional workshop available to all Region 1 states (Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont) ) to explore key A-LIST tool content.
Capitalizing on the strong positive response to the previous A-LIST panels’ training, this project will capitalize on the success of the Year 4 R1CC collaboration with Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. This work included (1) development of scoring rubrics, (2) facilitation of scoring panels to review intervention programs, (3) development of the tool to support school and district leaders in selecting high-quality literacy interventions for use in Grades 4–12, and (4) development of resources and guidance to train and support educators in using the tool. The tool draws on the National Center for Education Evaluation’s (NCEE) What Works Clearinghouse evidence reviews and the IES Practice Guide: Providing Reading Interventions for Students in Grades 4–9. This tool allows educators to identify interventions that match their students’ needs.
